She had suffered much
No longer heard the beautiful sounds
Of the garden chimes
Final days
I sat in a chair
Next to her hospital bed
In the end
“I no longer believe”
Is what she said

Leaning
Against the tile wall
Taking a long hot shower
Scrubbing
Away the dirt
With a new bar of soap
Did not
Remove humiliation
But
Provided
Her
A bit of hope
*
Frantically
Scratching
At his deformed image
In the mirror
Hyperventilating
He cried
“Please help I need air”
Fallen idol
Emotional bowl of jello
Desecrated soul
Pissed in his own rice bowl
Alone
There are no more calls
No longer the star
Of the Masquerade balls

Husband Who Really Upset Hot Blooded Wife
Pour me some bourbon
I just upset my women
Do you have spare bed?
She wants to chop off my head
Bartender help or I’m dead

Visiting the Everglades is definitely on my list of things to do.
The picture of flocks of birds floating on the water drinking margaritas came to mind when I read this poem. What a life? Of course, there are alligators.
